Quantiphi wins the 2021 IABM BaM Award® for AI-Powered Video De-Duplication

Considered the gold standard for celebrating innovation in media tech, the award acknowledged Quantiphi's solution for its ability to eliminate unnecessary content storage costs (either cloud or on-premise) by removing duplicates.

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Quantiphi, an AI-first digital engineering company, announced that it was awarded the 2021 IABM BaM Award®. Quantiphi's innovative AI-powered video deduplication solution was announced as the 'Store' category winner during a virtual awards ceremony.

A panel of 40+ non-affiliated, expert judges appreciated AI-powered Video Deduplication for its ingenuity and the cost challenge it addresses. The board commented, "Very few media organizations get to implement new technology without having to negotiate legacy issues. Any library is built over time, in different systems, for different purposes, and managed in different ways. Utilizing AI to identify what is related and what the differences have untold benefits."

Media and Entertainment enterprises create large volumes of content and migrate the same to the cloud. As content takes its journey from the production phase to the editing boards, the content file undergoes multiple modifications due to numerous market needs and content compliance requirements. In mid to large organizations, such editorial operations may be around tens of thousands of edits per month.

"At Quantiphi, we are committed to augmenting the media value chain using advanced data analytics and cutting-edge AI,” said Reghu Hariharan, Co-founder, Quantiphi. "The award from IABM is a strong validation of our capabilities to enable enterprises better manage content, reduce manual efforts, and save on content storage expenses."

These operations create multiple variants of the same content spread across locations. Difficult to locate, these duplicates eventually add to unknown expenses for on-premises data storage, maintenance, and cloud migration and retrieval costs.

The award recognized Quantiphi's AI-powered Video Deduplication's ability to scan through petabytes of storage archives and generate fingerprints for video and audio tracks of every asset. These fingerprints help the AI engine to understand the content present in a frame/audio track and identify the duplicates, thereby reducing 25-30% of the cloud cost incurred by media and entertainment enterprises.
